Visitors: Visitors are welcome at any time between 7.30am and 10.00pm. All visitors are asked to report to the Main Reception and at the Nurses’ Station every time they come to visit. Visitors can be quite tiring for patients and we know that you need periods of undisturbed rest to help your recovery. The nurse caring for you can help you to make optimal visiting arrangements.
Nurse Call System: Your room is equipped with Nurse Call System. This enables you to summon help whenever you need it. Your room is equipped with a very sophisticated ‘Nurse call’ system and can distinguish between three levels of calls. Your nurse will provide you with more details.
Telephone: A telephone is provided in your room so that you can keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues. All calls will be charged to your personal account on a metered basis. In addition to your own personal phone, there is a pay phone in the main reception area if you or your visitors would like to use it.
Television: Your room is equipped with a colour television that can be operated by a separate remote control unit, or manually on the set itself. You are welcome to use the television at any time, however, in the interest and comfort of other patients, we ask you to reduce the volume, particularly between 1.30pm – 3.30pm and after 10.00pm.
Smoking: For your comfort and safety, our Hospital operates a no-smoking policy throughout. We ask all patients and visitors to observe this rule for the comfort and safety of other patients and of our staff.
Bathroom: Your en-suite bathroom has a shower for your convenience. The water temperature, controlled by a mixer tap, is pre-set at 43° for your safety. Fresh towels are provided daily and there is a shaver point in the bathroom.
Patient lounge and gardens: You and your visitors are welcome to sit in the Patients’ Lounge, located next to the Nurses’ Station. You may stroll or sit and enjoy the garden, but please check with the nursing staff first.
Meals and drinks: We know how important nutrition
is in helping you to get better. We will be happy to
provide special dietary requirements for a range of tastes
and appetites. Please refer to the menu folder and feel
free to ask our staff to help and advise you on available
choices. Each day, a member of staff will visit your room
to take your order.
Meals are served at the following times:

| Dinner | 6.00pm – 7.00pm (Please place your request by 4.30pm) |
Beverages can be served at the following times:
On waking, at breakfast, mid-morning, lunchtime,
mid-afternoon, dinner time and late evening.
Security: All external doors are locked at 9.00pm. Any visitors to the Hospital after this time will have to use the Intercom system with nursing staff in the Ward.
Personal electrical appliances: You may use your personal battery operated appliances. In the interests of safety, we may ask you to allow the Hospital Engineer to check all your mains operated appliances before using them.
Going home: Your nurse will give you information and guidelines before discharge. We will make the appropriate out patient follow up arrangements for you before you leave the Hospital. It is advisable to arrange with a relative or friend to take you home after your hospital stay. If you require a taxi, a member of staff will assist you with this. If you require an ambulance, staff can also assist you, but please note that transport is not covered by private medical insurance. Should you have any query after you have returned home, please feel free to call us on 087 087 123 00 for any further advice. Please note that your “to take out” drugs are not covered by your insurance policy and will be charged and payed for separately on discharge.
