Clinical Outcomes and Patient Satisfaction

OSSH aims to provide high quality service; responsive, innovative, compassionate and cost efficient. The hospital appoints only high quality staff and consultants, use the latest techniques and evidence based protocols. Our policies and procedures are on continuous review in order to implement protocols that are supported by robust evidence. The hospital has a clear clinical governance process, which ensures systematic collection of clinical data as well as regular recording of adverse events with the aim of reducing clinical risks.

Patients, GP’s, staff have been encouraged to inform OSSH about any problems with any of our patients as they arise. Patients always have access to a 24/7 emergency help line and are encouraged to ring if they have any problems. All patients are given a Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire on discharge. They are contacted regularly by the hospital staff for a few months after discharge, providing an opportunity to capture data on any subsequent complications.

Based on 800 procedures during the period of 15th December 2004 – 31st August 2007 the following are the report of the adverse incidents.
