Your Stay with Us

Patients at the Orthopaedics and Spine Specialist Hospital enjoy luxury accommodation, state of the art technology and care delivered by a high trained clinical team. We provide a calm, clean and comfortable environment where patients can have confidence they are receiving the best start to their recovery. Our patients’ care is paramount at OSSH and our staff are proud of the strong supportive relationships we build with our patients. Doctors at the Orthopaedics and Spine Specialist Hospital recognise the special privilege of being entrusted with patient’s lives and well being.

Visitors: There are no restriction on visitors between the hours of 9.00 am and 8.00 pm so long as visits do not interfere with our delivery of the patient’s care.

During the time the patient is receiving attention from their nurse or Surgeon, visitors may be asked to vacate the room.

To ensure the patient has sufficient rest and recuperation following surgery we suggest that visitor numbers are limited on day one, postoperatively, and that very small children who have not been immunised wait until the patient leaves hospital to see them.

Nursing staff require free access to the patient for the first few hours following their return from theatre. At this time we will ask visitors to leave the room. The Day Room on the ward can be used or visitors may prefer to go home and come back at another time.

The main doors of the hospital will be locked at 8.00 pm therefore the last visit of the day should be no later than 7.30 pm

Nurse Call System: Your room is equipped with Nurse Call System. This enables you to summon help whenever you need it. Your room is equipped with a very sophisticated ‘Nurse call’ system and can distinguish between three levels of calls. Your nurse will provide you with more details.

Television: Your room is equipped with a colour television that can be operated by a separate remote control unit, or manually on the set itself. You are welcome to use the television at any time, however, in the interest and comfort of other patients, we ask you to reduce the volume, particularly between 1.30pm – 3.30pm and after 10.00pm.

Smoking: For your comfort and safety, our Hospital operates a no-smoking policy throughout the site. We ask all patients and visitors to observe this rule for the comfort and safety of other patients and of our staff.

Bathroom: Your en-suite bathroom has a shower for your convenience. The water temperature, controlled by a mixer tap, is pre-set at 43° for your safety. Fresh towels are provided daily and there is a shaver point in the bathroom.

Patient lounge and gardens: You and your visitors are welcome to sit in the Patients’ Lounge, located next to the Nurses’ Station. You may stroll or sit and enjoy the garden, but please check with the nursing staff first.

Security: All external doors are locked at 8.00 pm. Any visitors to the Hospital after this time will have to use the Intercom system with nursing staff in the Ward.

Personal electrical appliances: You may use your personal battery operated appliances. In the interests of safety, we may ask you to allow the Hospital Engineer to check all your mains operated appliances before using them.
